Islas Ballestas. PERU

Also called “The Galapagos of the poor”, those islands are the home for thousands of seagulls and cormorants. Seals, pelicans and penguins abound as well. The photos don’t reflect the incredible noise and movement that takes place right over your head when you take a boat trip around the islands. Photos from Summer 2009.
