Gorges de la Méouge, FRANCE

The "Gorges de la Méouge" is a 7-kilometre (4.3 mi) long gorge carved by the Méouge though the mesozoic limestone rock of the Hautes-Alpes in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The lime colored gorge has wild shapes, small sandy beaches, huge polished pebbles, water holes and waterfalls. It is famous for swimming. Troumouse Cirque. FRANCE

The Cirque de Troumouse is utterly and thrillingly different from its neiborough and much more visited cirque Gavarnie. Troumouse is a huge theatre of cliffs and peaks surrounding rough, lake-studded ground with a raised rocky hill at its heart which commands tremendous views around the cirque. On both sides, deep, waterfally valleys drop to the Héas valley far below.
