CERAMIC STREET SIGNS, MADRID. SPAIN

The first Ceramic tile Street Signs were installed in the 30's of the twentieth century, a work from the Ceramics Moncloa School. Most of the actual street plates that decorate the old city center of Madrid are the work of the artist Alfredo Ruiz de la Luna, who worked on this since early 90s up until his death in 2013. Photos from 2013.
