Capital of the Islamic Caliphate, Cordoba enjoyed immense prosperity during the 10 th century when it became one of the cultural centers of the world and one of the most populated cities in the world (Around 500.000 inhabitants). The Great Mosque, reference building of that time, is seen on the last two of these pictures, taken in spring 2013.
