Since I
can remember, I always wanted to go to Ghent, probably because Castafiore, the opera diva from Tintin, spoke once of the city as something very romantic. It took many years
but I finally made it in 2001. And I must say that the city IS indeed romantic, especially covered with snow.
Sadly, I never got to see Ghent (as it's known in English :-)) with snow. I agree it's a beautiful town, though, even without snow. I miss towns like this being just a two-hour journey away...
