Cloister from the Seu Vella, Lleida. CATALONIA

Completed in the XIV th century, this huge gothic cloister is one of the largest in Europe. One of its galleries is opened at a side and overlooks Lleida, as the former Cathedral of the Roman diocese is located on top of the hill in the center of the city. Photos from 2011.

Cordoba. ANDALUSIA

Capital of the Islamic Caliphate, Cordoba enjoyed immense prosperity during the 10 th century when it became one of the cultural centers of the world and one of the most populated cities in the world (Around 500.000 inhabitants). The Great Mosque, reference building of that time, is seen on the last two of these pictures, taken in spring 2013.
